US power sector slows decline - Fitch

Speaking at Risk News’ sister publication EPRM’s annual US congress, Hunter said the credit situation in the power sector was likely to improve through 2003, but the sector would still be dominated by credit downgrades.

He estimated that downgrades would outnumber upgrades by a ratio of 7:1 this year, compared with more than 15:1 in 2002. “The situation is improving, but it’s a sign of how bad things have been that it’s almost a relief to get to this level,” he said.
