Thai equity derivatives market to double

Demand from corporate and private bank investors to drive growth in Thai structured product market


Increased demand for equity-linked notes, over-the-counter equity options and derivative warrants from corporate and private banking clients is set to drive the growth of the Thai structured product market this year, says one local market participant.

Siam Commercial Bank Securities (SCBS), the securities broking arm of Siam Commercial Bank, says it is planning to issue 7 billion baht ($235 million) worth of structured products this year, due to an increase in demand from corporate and private
