BZW Acquires Source Code Rights For Rims Securities Settlement System

TECHNOLOGY & INTEGRATION

BZW, the London-based merchant banking subsidiary of Barclays Bank, has taken its securities processing software in-house. The bank uses Rims, a real-time securities settlement and risk management system developed by London-based Synopsys.

Faizul Mohamed, sales and marketing manager for Synopsys, confirms that BZW has bought source code rights to Rims. He adds that the bank will now take over maintenance from Synopsys, and won't be using the vendor's services in future.
