Duke Energy under fire

Duke Energy's proposal to fund a new nuclear plant by raising electricity prices for its 2.2 million customers in North and South Carolina has met with criticism.

Both the state utilities commission and attorney-general have voiced concern over the Charlotte-based utility's request for assurance last month that the company would be allowed to recover future development costs involved in electric rates.
