Enel completes Slovakia deal

Spanish utility Enel completed a EUR839 million deal in April for 66% of Slovakia's state-owned power company Slovenske elektrarne. This is Europe's largest completed electricity deal so far in 2006. It also marks Enel's largest acquisition of generation capacity abroad and sees Enel's return to managing nuclear technology. SE operates a portfolio of 7,000 MW of nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric electricity plants in Slovakia.
