Wee-Yeap Lau

Wee Yeap Lau is a Professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics and an academic board member of the Asia-Europe Institute, Universiti Malaya. He was a MEXT Scholar at the University of Osaka, where he received his PhD in Economics with a dissertation in Financial Economics. He was a visiting scholar at the Risk Management Institute, National University of Singapore, AUA Scholar at UAE University and visiting scholar under the National Taiwan Library Fellowship. He also attended an Executive Education Program at the Bendheim Center for Finance, Princeton University. Throughout his career, he has received Best Paper Awards at conferences organised by the Malaysian Finance Association and the Institute for Capital Market Research Malaysia. He also received the Best Journal Paper Award in Humanities and Social Sciences (National Index) at the 15th MAPIM-KPT Award Ceremony held at the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Putrajaya.
