Viktor Manahov is a Reader in Finance at the University of York, with over 15 years of experience in the UK academic sector. His research is published in various interdisciplinary, top-ranked journals. He is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Certified Management and Business Educator. His teaching and research focus is on Fintech, cryptocurrency trading and the role of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning in financial markets. He supervises PhD students researching different areas of worldwide financial and cryptocurrency markets.

This paper shows how high-frequency traders cancel many trading orders within 20 milliseconds of submission and proposes batch auctions to mitigate queuing risk for high-frequency traders.
