Runchi Zhang

Runchi Zhang is currently the deputy director of the Finance Department, School of Economics, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He is an associate professor and a certified FRM, and has qualifications in securities, funds, and futures businesses in China’s financial industry. He has a doctorate in Applied Economics from the Business School of Nanjing University and has two years of postdoctoral research experience at the Bank of Jiangsu. During his postdoctoral research, he developed a strong interest in inclusive financial risk management and small and micro enterprise risk modeling and dedicated himself to conducting relevant research. At present, he is chiefly engaged in research on financial technology and loan data mining, and mainly teaches financial technology and quantitative investment analysis at universities. He has presided over and participated in one National Postdoctoral Research Fund project, published more than 10 papers as the first author in international and domestic core journals, published more than 20 papers as a co-author, and published one monograph. As a reviewer of many Chinese academic journals, he also served as a member of the Jiangsu Communication Society’s technical economy and management modernization committee.

The authors validate 12 of the most representative sample-balancing methods used for credit-scoring models, finding that a combined SMOTE and Editor Nearest Neighbor method is optimal.
