Hassen Raïs

Hassen Raïs is currently Associate Professor of Finance at EDC Paris Business School. His academic and research work focuses on quantitative finance, with particular expertise in data science, machine learning, econometrics, and risk management applied to financial markets, insurance, energy, and cryptocurrencies.

He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Université Toulouse I Capitole, as well as a Master’s degree in Economics and an engineering degree in statistics. His interdisciplinary background combines advanced quantitative methods with real-world financial applications, positioning him at the intersection of academic research and industry practice.

Hassen Raïs is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference papers. His research explores topics such as volatility spillovers, financial crises, ESG factors, and the impact of geopolitical events on financial markets. He is also actively involved in academic conferences and contributes to public discussions on economic and financial issues.

Prior to joining EDC Paris Business School, Hassen Raïs held several academic positions, notably at ESSCA School of Management, where he served as Head of the Finance Department and led graduate programs in finance and risk management. He has also taught at institutions such as CNAM, Toulouse Business School, and IAE Toulouse.

In addition to his academic career, he has significant professional experience in the financial sector. He worked at AXA and Kredit Bank Luxembourg, where he was involved in risk modeling, financial engineering, and the validation of market and credit risk models.
