Félix Simione

Félix Simione is a senior economist in the IMF African Department. He joined the IMF in 2012 as the local economist for Mozambique. He has also worked on Mauritius, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic. Before joining the Fund, he was an economist in the Ministry of Planning and Development in Mozambique. He was also the country economist for the International Growth Centre research project directed by the Oxford University and London School of Economics in Mozambique. His research, including published work, has covered digital payments and cash usage, exchange rate determination and passthrough, monetary policy framework transition, digitalization and growth, and fiscal rules. He holds a Masters in Economics from Williams College in the USA, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy.
