Sarasin debuts its thematic approach for new long/short equity hedge fund

Sarasin Investment Management is preparing to launch their first hedge fund, the Sarasin Thematic Hedge Fund, at the end of June 2001. The fund will be a long/short equity hedge fund trading global stocks according to Sarasin's thematic approach. This approach, which has been pioneered by Guy Monson, the global head of strategy, is a fundamental stockpicking process, which groups equities according to themes rather than geographies or sectors.

The investment team includes fund manager Justin
