Foundations and endowments may have been the early movers in terms of institutional hedge fund investing, but that doesn't necessarily make this class of investors any easier to please.

Thomas Zucosky, senior vice-president of alternative investments at InvestorForce in Philadelphia, says that despite increased awareness and information flow regarding hedge funds, there remains a 'general disconnect' between investors and those managing the money.
