Sempra Energy orchestrates smooth buy-out of Enron Metal's London arm

On 4 February, Sempra Energy Trading Corporation completed the acquisition of London-based Enron Metals, from the joint administrators of Enron Metals Group. With a history dating back to the formation of Metallgesellschaft in 1970, the broker ' still known as 'MG' ' claimed to be the leading metals trader on the London Metals Exchange. Seven weeks down the line, a combination of regulatory protection and a firm reputation, appears to have saved it from lasting damage from the Enron connection
