Merger creates single platform

Electronic communications networks Archipelago and REDIBook have merged to form one trading platform.

Integration of their order books and trading systems is due to begin late in the second quarter. A gradual change to one order book is expected to be completed in the third quarter. In January, the combined daily average volume of Nasdaq and listed shares executed by the companies was $475m.
