Administrators respond to regulatory change


The hedge fund industry is braced for major changes to the way it is regulated. In the US there are currently three legislative proposals before Congress which would force hedge fund managers to register with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and impose new record-keeping and disclosure requirements on the industry.

The latest of these is the Private Fund Investment Advisers Registration Act tabled in October by Congressman Paul Kanjorski, the chairman of the House financial services
