Macro outflows go on

Global macro funds, which identify macro economic and currency trends and then take significant positions to benefit from those trends, were once the most popular sector of the hedge fund industry. However, the sector has experienced asset outflow in recent years, according to TASS Research. This is partly a result of new strategies being developed in the last decade, but also due to several periods of poor investment performance.
