Fund soft-closed one month after launch

Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has soft-closed its European Equity Market Neutral Fund one month after launching it, after the portfolio reached E500m.

The Dublin-registered and listed fund, which has both dollar and euro share classes and invests in 300 to 400 positions, aims to return 10% annually above the three-month Libid, after fees on annual volatility of 10%.

The fund will invest in stocks from developed European countries except Greece initially, as Jonathan Lamb, senior portfolio
