New rules easing the establishment of retail fund of hedge funds in Ireland are set to give its already healthy hedge fund industry a welcome boost

A significant development in the European hedge fund industry occurred in December 2002 when the Central Bank of Ireland released new rules permitting the authorisation of retail funds of hedge funds.


This followed detailed consultation between the Central Bank and the funds industry in Ireland.


The availability of this new retail product in Ireland's highly regulated environment is likely to greatly enhance the attractiveness of the country as a domicile of choice for the expanding international
