ABN Amro Asset Management has successfully moved into the hedge fund arena. Gary Smith looks at how it has kept ahead of the competition

Many traditional asset management houses are choosing to enter the hedge fund sector by offering fund of fund products. ABN Amro Asset Management along with Deutsche and its Xavex Hedge First product, Schroders, Henderson and Baring Asset Management are just some fund management houses with London offices going down this route ' all launching products within the past year. But their approaches vary dramatically, so what distinguishes ABN Amro?
