Salida looks to the future

"Toronto is not London or New York." This may be an obvious point, but one Gary Ostoich, president and chief operating officer of Salida Capital, thinks is one worth making.

Canadians, he says, are not keen to invest in Canadian funds. This, he believes, makes it difficult for them to grow unless they have the ability to attract international investors. He also expects government regulation of the hedge fund business to remain tight.
