Robert Steigerwald - Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

Robert Steigerwald is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Financial Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Robert began his career with Kirkland & Ellis, an international law firm based in Chicago, where he represented the Chicago Board of Trade, the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation and National Futures Association, as well as other clients in litigation, regulatory, and corporate matters. He later served as corporate legal counsel for a foreign currency clearinghouse and a multicurrency payment vs. payment system for the settlement of FX transactions. Robert joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2000. His research focuses public policy issues relating to financial market infrastructures and financial regulation.

Robert is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law (JD 1985) and the State University of New York at Stony Brook (BA 1979).
