CCB stands apart as Chinese banks diverge on G-Sib indicators

Bank records increases in 13 systemic risk indicators as trading activity jumps in 2025

Chinese banks had a mixed year for systemic indicators in 2025, with China Construction Bank emerging as the lender with the starkest broad-based increases.

The bank saw 13 of the 14 systemic indicators rise, the most among the 13 firms and well ahead of China Citic Bank and China Merchants Bank, which ranked joint second with increases in nine indicators each. CCB also recorded the sharpest rise
