Apple credit card acquisition pushes JP Morgan above Collins floor

Modelled RWAs overtake standardised output for first time since Q3 2016

JP Morgan has broken free of the Collins floor for the first time in nine years, following a 6.1% increase in its advanced approach risk-weighted assets (RWAs) during the fourth quarter of 2025.

Total RWAs calculated using the bank’s internal models rose $117 billion to $2.05 trillion as of end-December, compared with an increase of $48 billion to $1.98 trillion under the standardised approach. It
