OCC’s initial margin spikes 27% in Q3
CCP hits new margin record for second consecutive quarter
Required initial margin at the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) surged 26.6% in the third quarter to an all-time high of $179.6 billion.
The $37.7 billion rise was the largest quarterly increase for the central counterparty (CCP) since data became available in 2015. In percentage terms, it was the biggest jump since Q1 2020.
