Euro credit growth catches up with dollar in global flows

Cross-border lending hits $37trn as euro flows gain ground

Global cross-border bank credit expanded by $917 billion to $37 trillion in the second quarter, as annual growth of euro-denominated lending narrowly surpassed that of dollar credit for the first time since Q2 2023, data from the Bank for International Settlements shows.
