LME had four-hour operational failure in Q4

First outage on record caused by connectivity issue at LMEmercury

The London Metal Exchange (LME) reported its first ever operational failure in the fourth quarter of last year, triggered by an issue at its LMEmercury application.

The failure lasted for four hours and 10 minutes on an unspecified day during those three months, exceeding the standard recovery time objective of two hours.

Risk Quantum understands it was related to a connectivity issue that affected the processing of matched trades into LME’s clearing system.
