ING’s op RWAs climb 7% on AMA update

Second quarterly rise in a row erases most of the reduction in the first half of 2022

ING Bank’s operational risk charges rose 7% in the fourth quarter, all but erasing the savings achieved over the first six months of 2022.

Operational risk-weighted assets climbed to €35 billion ($38 billion) from €32.7 billion at end-September, following a periodic update of parameters to its internal model underpinned by the advanced measurement approach (AMA).
