EU banks toughen terms for OTC trades – ECB

Credit conditions for SFT and OTC derivatives tightened over past three months

European banks tightened credit conditions for over-the-counter derivatives and securities financing transactions (SFT) in the second quarter, with conditions expected to worsen in the third quarter.

A European Central Bank survey shows that the credit terms, including price and non-price factors, offered to counterparties tightened the most in a year over the last three months. Of the 28 dealers surveyed, a net 17% said conditions had tightened for all counterparties in the second quarter
