

Interest rate products dominate European ETD market
Interest rate products accounted for more than 80% of Europe’s €200 trillion ($248 trillion) exchange-traded derivatives (ETD) market in 2016, regulatory data shows.
Futures, options and swaps referencing interest rates traded on European bourses represented more than €166 trillion in notional volume as of year-end 2016. Equity derivatives accounted for €24 trillion, commodity derivatives €13 trillion and credit derivatives €0.4 trillion.
Of the interest rate ETD market, futures made up 87%
