Isda AGM: Deadline for global uncleared margin proposals likely to be met, says panellist

Global regulators are likely to meet a June deadline to draw up a consultation paper on margin requirements for uncleared swaps, according to Sean Campbell, deputy associate director, division of research and statistics, at the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System.

US prudential regulators were the first to propose initial and variation margin requirements for uncleared swaps in April 2011 – a proposal that US banks claimed would put them at a competitive disadvantage overseas
