Iosco chief defends margin transparency standards

Iosco’s secretary general Rodrigo Buenaventura has defended margin transparency standards criticised by the industry last month.

In January the BIS Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures, the International Organization of Securities Commissions, and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision published a best practice report aimed at improving transparency of margin calculations in centrally cleared markets.
