In this final edition for 2010, Energy Risk looks at prospects for emissions trading and the carbon markets on both sides of the Atlantic and finds that in spite of all the obstacles and uncertainty, there is some room for hope. At first the picture looks bleak. The political changes brought by the November mid-term elections in the US appear to have pushed climate change and cap-and-trade well off the agenda.
