
Aon Benfield launches first pan-Asian typhoon model for cat risk

Aon Benfield's Impact Forecasting unit has launched its first typhoon model covering Asia, aimed at helping insurers to analyse the financial implications of typhoons and develop reinsurance programmes based on scientific principles.
The new model covers the Asian typhoon-exposed regions of China, Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, including tropical cyclones generated in the northern Indian Ocean and the north-west Pacific Ocean.
