Businesses vulnerable to Web 2.0 data security and reputational risks, says UK study

Firms are unprepared against information leaks and reputational risks caused by employee internet usage, says Recommind survey

The majority of UK firms are unprepared for the risks posed by the widespread use of the internet by their employees, according to research conducted by Vanson Bourne on behalf of data security and e-disclosure vendor Recommind.
The research finds that firms are exposed to information security threats, reputational risks and e-disclosure regulatory compliance risks posed by employee use of Web 2.0 and social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and instant messaging.
