Vattenfall renames its trading unit

Swedish power company Vattenfall has changed the name of its trading services unit to Vattenfall Energy Trading. Vattenfall Trading and Nuon Energy Trade & Wholesale merged in March 2009 and the new name reflects the expansion of the business says Stephen Asplin, head of Vattenfall Energy Trading. “By merging the two trading units, we can build on an expanded geographical presence, deeper market knowledge, and a more diversified sourcing strategy,” he says.
