Caps on NAPs

More stringent emissions caps are being put on EU member states. Miles Austin of EcoSecurities examines how countries are responding to the new limits

Since the last report on the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) in Energy Risk (January 2007), the European Commission (EC) has been consistent in its application of the rules regarding total allocation. A further 11 countries have had their National Allocation Plans (NAPs) ruled on – of these only the Slovenian and revised French
