Details on final Basel II rule for US likely to emerge in early October

WASHINGTON - Regulators departed the US capital for their summer break without revealing further details on what the final Basel II rule in the US will contain.

However, a source within the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was able to divulge some preliminary dates for the next developments. "I would imagine we're looking at some more detail being released around mid-September heading toward the end of the month, and then I would imagine the provisional date for publication of the final Basel II rules will probably be early October," said the source
