Frasin Releases Operational Risk Control Software

A London-based software company has released what it claims is the first application designed specifically to monitor operational risks within global financial institutions.

Frasin Limited, a subsidiary of the HSBC Group, launched its new product last week. The system, dubbed Sofwin, runs under Microsoft Windows using Microsoft's Foxpro database.

"There's all sorts of software for trading risks, but nothing for operational risk," says Philip Martin, chief executive of Frasin. Sofwin, he claims
