SocGen’s Bouton heads IIF committee on Basle II

WASHINGTON -- The Institute of International Finance (IIF), the Washington-based trade organisation for major banks, in May appointed French banking group Société Générale’s chief executive, Daniel Bouton, as chairman of the IIF steering committee on regulatory capital.

The steering committee represents the views of the global banking industry to the Basle Committee on Banking Supervision, the body that in effect regulates international banking, as it formulates the complex and risk-based Basle
