Robbery losses increase by 52% in EU, says new FBE report

-- A report from the European Banking Federation (FBE), published in November, says that "there has been a considerable rise in the level of violence used by (professional) raiders" within the EU, leading to an overall increase in losses from robberies of 52% to 1136 million within the region during 2002. Indeed, in the EU one out of 31 bank branches was the target of a robbery in that year.
