Disaster recovery experts get firms up and running

NEW YORK -- Disaster recovery experts swung into action in the race to re-house and reconnect banks and financial service companies after the September 11 attacks in New York.

IT services firm Electronic Data Systems of Dallas had 12 clients in the area of the World Trade Center and 1,000 employees devoted to the recovery effort, said spokesperson Sean Healy. The vendor delivered 2,000 PCs to the area, and had room for 700 seats in seven sites throughout the north-eastern US.
