US Banks Discuss Operational Effects Of EMU

MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS

REPRESENTATIVES of US and European financial institutions met in New York last week to discuss operational issues involved in European Monetary Union and its impact on US financial markets.

The conference, sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, outlined many problems associated with EMU but offered few solutions.

The Fed forum featured speakers from the Bank of England, Bankers Trust, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley.
