Regulators aim for late February CP3 publication

BASLE, SWITZERLAND -- Global banking regulators hope to issue their third consultative paper (CP3) on the complex Basle II banking accord in late February next year, regulators said in October.

The Basle Committee on Banking Supervision, the body that in effect regulates international banking, said in June when it postponed the coming into effect of the accord by a year to 2005 from 2004, that it planned a third paper for publication some time early in the new year.
