1998: FOCUS On Credit Risk

Massachusetts-based Meridien Research's first report of the year concluded credit risk management systems were "not yet mature" and had no established standards (RMO, January 12, 1998). The group's research efforts indicated risk systems fell short in one of two categories: global counterparty exposures or managing credit limits hierarchies. TCA Consulting echoed these concerns months later, in a survey that highlighted the shortcomings of credit models (RMO, October 5, 1998).
