Garp Promotes Risk Management Examinations


THE Global Association of Risk Professionals (Garp), a recently founded industry body for risk managers and researchers, has set up an examination designed to offer a formal qualification in financial risk management.

Marc Lore, one of Garp's two executive directors, says the new examination will focus on practical issues facing risk managers, rather than abstract financial theory.

The examination is overseen by a council of eight members, including John Hull, the University of Toronto professor
