Dexia rolls out SunGard’s BancWare to new offices

Belgium’s Dexia Bank is to extend its use of SunGard's BancWare for interest rate risk management to 14 offices in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Ireland and the US.

Dexia, which bought Artesia-Bacob group this year, will use the US risk technology service provider’s product to clean data and create an integrated asset liability management service.

BancWare collects, cleans and synthesises transaction-level data from various business lines. It then models the data under a number of different interest rate scenarios to offer simulation and market valuation across currencies.

Dexia has used BancWare since 1985 at its Belgian headquarters.
