Punshi calls for action on op risk in Asia

Risk manager fears Asia is running out of time

Rajit Punshi, the head of group operational risk policy and programme at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, has said that the development of the operational risk discipline is moving “too slowly” in the Asia-Pacific region.

“If we don’t act fast, we will be out of time”, said Punshi. He specifically called for the development of a regional loss database to help create an op risk data-sharing forum. Punshi was speaking at a panel discussion at OpRisk Asia today.
