Over-regulation "biggest risk to insurance," says study

Regulator scourge hitting industries outside banking

Onerous and burdensome regulatory is the greatest risk facing the international insurance industry, according to a survey conducted by the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI).

Over 100 respondents to the survey reported that excessive regulation is jeopardising the industry by weighing companies down with unnecessary costs, distracting management and creating obstacles to competition and innovation.
