FBI homes in on risk transfer

The controversy surrounding finite reinsurance has escalated, with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) meeting members of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) last month as part of a fact-finding exercise. The involvement of the FBI follows growing concerns about the misuse of finite reinsurance by insurers to distort financial reports.
