Isda AGM: exec warns divergent Basel III rules will push trading into less-regulated entities

A senior Standard Chartered executive has urged UK and European Union regulators to follow the “commercial” approach of US authorities toward prudential regulation, evident in last month’s Basel III endgame proposals, warning that divergence across jurisdictions risks pushing activity towards less-regulated entities.

“We like the regulatory simplification approach that the US is taking right now,”
